ICBC – Estimator Workload Complaint

March 26, 2025

To: All MoveUP Members at ICBC in Estimator and Estimator - Specialty Vehicle positions

Dear Estimators of ICBC,

We are launching an Estimator Workload Complaint per Letter of Understanding 18 in our collective agreement. We understand that the Estimator workload has recently increased, with large numbers of files being assigned to Estimators daily, and with the increased demands of customers who are waiting for calls back from their adjusters who are currently adjusting to the rollout of the new Auto Claims Model (ACM).

Many of you have stepped forward and some have expressed concerns of reprisal. Please be reassured that the collective agreement stipulates there shall be no discrimination or coercion for union activity.

In our experience with ongoing complaints, when the committee is struck, it is best to clearly articulate concerns and provide direct, practical solutions.

We would like to offer one more opportunity for Estimators to join the complaint before we file it. Please email hmagana@moveuptogether.ca by Friday, March 28 and include a few bullet points of your current workload concerns, and confirmation that we may include you as a complainant.

We currently have 29 Estimators signed on to the complaint, and our strength grows with the number of Estimators who join.

Thank you for your patience and continued commitment while we launch this complaint. Remember that we are the Union and that working in solidarity is the best approach.

In solidarity,

Herbert Magana, Workload Coordinator
Sara Colliss, Union Representative
Dimitri Ossinsky, Vice President
