Human Rights and Multicultural Committee – Delegate Selection for 2024 Federation of Labour Convention

To: All Human Rights & Multicultural Committee Members
The Human Rights and Multicultural committee is pleased to give the opportunity for three members to attend the BC Federation of Labour (BCFED) Convention 2024 hosted in Vancouver – November 25 to 29, 2024.
The BCFED convention is held bi-annually and is an amazing opportunity to connect with other unions in our province. The focus of this convention is on provincial issues. Members will be based on the thoughtfulness of answers provided in the survey. We will look to have diverse representation from equity seeking groups and include all MoveUP bargaining units.
All costs to attend including registration, hotel and travel accommodation as well as any leave time coverage for lost wages will be reimbursed as per the MoveUP expense policy. MoveUP will arrange for all travel and registration costs upfront.
If you are interested, please register and fill-out the survey here. Deadline to register is Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 12 p.m. (noon), PST. Registrants will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by November 5, 2024.
Please be advised, our union will also send members through the Women & Gender Rights committee and the Youth Action committee. As well, nine members out of our Executive Council, split between our three units: ICBC, Utilities and Combined.
