FortisBC – Scheduling Remaining 2025 Annual Vacation & Purchased Days Off & Earned Days Off

Article 14: Reminder to schedule remaining 2025 Annual Vacation, Paid Days Off and Earned Days Off.
As we near the end of the calendar year, it is important that you schedule any remaining annual vacation (AV), Purchased Days Off (PDO) and Earned Days Off (EDO) for 2025 if you have not already done so.
Although Article 14.05 of your collective agreement states you may carry over vacation to March 31 of the following year, FortisBC has traditionally been very restrictive in when this can occur.
The collective agreement states carryover of days off are not permitted unless the company has declared operational needs and has requested you to cancel and/or rebook your days off. If a manager confirms this is the case, payroll will carry over your vacation until March 31 of the following year.
If you do not schedule your remaining vacation days, you may be at risk of losing your time off.
