Bulletin
FortisBC – New LOU#45 – Remote Work
February 24, 2025
To: All MoveUP members at FortisBC
We are providing an update following our December 18, 2024, bulletin.
The company provided the proposed draft framework on February 3, 2025.
The committee, consists of me (April Young), Carolyn Whittla, and Mike Hendriks for the union. Representing the company were Colin Murdoch, Sr. Manager – Employee & Labour Relations; Arlene Whiffin, Director – External Communications; Jeff May, Controller – Financial & Regulatory Accounting; and Darwin Anderson, Director – IS Enterprise & Tech Services. The committee met on February 7, 2025.
The union committee raised a few concerns and has submitted a revised framework to the company for review and consideration.
We have received numerous calls and emails asking about the first pilot group, along with some incorrect rumours and a few abrasive messages.
As with the bargaining process, we cannot share details until everything is finalized. We will provide updates as soon as concrete information is available.
The company will determine which roles are eligible for the program; this decision will not be based on individual requests. They have indicated that implementation will occur one department at a time.
According to the Letter of Understanding #45: “Within six (6) months following the ratification of the Collective Agreement, the Company will establish a trial flexible work program.” Your Collective Agreement was ratified on October 1, 2024.
The Parties remain on track to have this in place by April 1, 2025.

In solidarity,
