FortisBC – LOU#45 Remote Work – Update#5
August 28, 2025
To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC
MoveUP members at FortisBC in eligible roles have been notified for the new remote work program trial under Letter of Understanding #45 (LOU #45).
This remote work agreement is a direct result of MoveUP members advocating for flexible work options that support work-life balance and job security. Your voice and engagement made it possible to reach this agreement.
Eligibility: The job classifications that are eligible to participate in the trial will be appointed by the company and at their sole discretion.
A particular role within a job classification may not be eligible to participate based on work group, location, or for other legitimate operational reasons.
You may recall the company had identified specific roles eligible for Phase 1 of the program. These included Information Systems, Finance, External Communications, and Resource Development. 79 members were selected for the first phase.
Phase 2 Timeline: The company will continue with the same departments previously identified in Phase 1 expanding on the number of workers in the program.
No additional departments have been identified to join the program at this time.
- Training & Rollout:
- As of August 27, 2025, eligible members have been notified to join Phase 2. A meeting is scheduled for September 3, 2025 to review program details, expectations and deliverables.
- Approved members will have one-on-one meetings with their manager(s) to review department specific expectations and deliverables.
- Eligible members can begin working remotely as soon as they, and their manager(s), complete the necessary training and paperwork.
Your Rights & Participation
- Participation is voluntary. You are not required to disclose a reason for not participating.
- You can withdraw from the program at any time.
- Company-Provided Equipment: FortisBC will supply a laptop, mouse, keyboard, camera, and headset for remote work.
- Additional Costs: Any costs beyond what is listed above will not be covered by the company.
- Home Office Equipment Purchase Program: Members can access the Lenovo Employee Purchase Program through Connector for additional equipment.
- The Trial Program document can be found at moveup-ce-trial-remote-work-program-03-13-2025.pdf through Connector.
