BCRCC LRB Section 78 Final Offer Vote Results
April 29, 2025
To: All MoveUP Members at BC Regional Council of Carpenters
As we discussed at our membership meeting held on Monday April 14, 2025, the Section 74 mediation with Mediator Tracey Wood was unsuccessful. The employer subsequently applied for a final offer vote per Section 78 of the Labour Relations Code.
All of you were provided a link to vote from the Labour Relations Board (LRB) and the vote closed on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 12:00pm.
This morning (Tuesday, April 29, 2025), at 10:30am, with Union Representative Daniel Storms and employer HR Director Samantha Okabe in attendance as witnesses, the LRB provided the Simply Voting electronic ballot results (via MS Teams).
The vote tally was as follows:
Eligible Voters 11
Votes Polled 11
Affirmative 0
Negative 11
Spoiled Ballots 0
Official notification will be sent from the LRB to the union and the employer.
Merissa and I thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support and solidarity in unanimously rejecting the employer’s last offer package.
We want to get back to the bargaining table to negotiate a fair and reasonable renewal of your collective agreement, so we can bring back a package to recommend for ratification.
Please stay tuned for further developments regarding collective bargaining.
In solidarity,
Daniel Storms, Union Representative
Merissa Cox, Bargaining Committee Member
