FBC-CSC – Policy Grievances filed WCB Form Sets – LifeWorks
August 10, 2021
To: All MoveUP members at FortisBC-CSC
A recent communication was posted on Connector announcing that LifeWorks (formerly known as Morneau-Shepell) will be handling the WCB claims for FortisBC.
Your Union met with the Employer and identified that we had issues with the form sets and that the some of the questions being posed were not reasonably necessary, were overreaching, to broad and invaded our member’s medical privacy. Unfortunately, the Company has disregarded our concerns and has proceeded unilaterally.
The Union is not in agreement with the form sets being used and have filed two policy grievances, one for the FortisBC-CSC bargaining unit and one for the FortisBC bargaining unit.
We urge members who have had their claims denied, or who are in need of assistance with a WCB claim, to please contact our MoveUP WCB Appeals & OH&S Representative Niki Schnurr at nschnurr@moveuptogether.ca. It is important to note that when a claim is denied by WCB, there is a ninety (90) day time frame for a member to respond if they will be appealing the decision, and utilizing the assistance of a WCB advocate can provide a bit of relief with this endeavor.
If you have any question or concerns, please contact a job steward.
In solidarity,
Cindy A. Lee
Union Representative
