EOI – 2 alternate worker representatives for JOH&S Committee – Prince George

To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC-CSC - Prince George
MoveUP is currently seeking 2 alternate worker representatives on your Joint Occupational Health & Safety (JOH&S) Committee.
This is a vital opportunity for members to help ensure your workplaces remain healthy and safe. Committee members work alongside employer representatives to address any health and safety concerns on the job.
Now, more than ever, we need strong worker representation at the JOH&S table to advocate for your co-workers and uphold workplace safety standards.
About the JOH&S Committee:
- Meets monthly to identify and recommend corrections for unsafe or unhealthy work conditions.
- Participation in committee meetings and activities is considered work time, as per the Workers Compensation Act, and is fully paid.
- Committee members are entitled to eight (8) hours of employer-paid educational leave per year.
As a trained JOH&S union representative, your responsibilities would include:
- Conducting worksite inspections
- Participating in workplace investigations or inquiries
- Representing MoveUP at the joint committee level
