Call for Expressions of Interest: Join the Joint Training Committee

To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC Energy Inc and FortisBC Inc
We are seeking interested union members to serve on the Joint Training Committee, as outlined under Article 20.01 (c) of our Collective Agreement.
About the Joint Training Committee
Under Article 20.01(c), the Joint Training Committee consists of four (4) persons, 2 appointed by the Company, 2 appointed by the Union. The Joint Training Committee shall, as part of its mandate, explore emerging skillset requirements for employability. The Committee shall also develop a catalogue of various sources of training and education related to the emerging skillsets, and it will make this information available to all managers and employees.
Duties may include but not be limited to:
- Conduct Annual Performance Review – Annual Performance Reviews must be conducted for all employees; as part of this process, identify challenges/training needs for employees’ current roles as well as identify potential career paths
- Develop Training Needs Profiles – to identify (a) training needs for current tasks or (b) training for anticipated requirements
- Joint Training Committee – responsible for exploring emerging skill sets and developing a catalogue of training and education that is available specific to emerging skillsets
- Catalogue of Resources – Create and publicize a catalogue of resources (internal and external) for employees and managers
- Educate – employees around (a) provisions under Article 20 (b) funding that is available
