Bargaining
BELC – Bargaining Update
May 17, 2019
To: All MoveUP members at BELC
Your Bargaining Committee met with management today in order to continue the negotiation of the collective agreement renewal.
Management presented their proposals for updating the agreement and your Committee had an opportunity to ask questions concerning the intent behind the proposals.
An informative discussion was held regarding the request for proposal (RFP) process with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Items such as timelines and the possible effects of governmental change were reviewed in length. It should come as no surprise that the RFP process and the resulting negotiations that evolve from that process will have a significant effect on the bargaining process.
The parties have agreed to meet again on May 28th for the purpose of continued bargaining.
If you have any questions about the above or anything else, please see your Bargaining Committee members or contact Shawn at the MoveUP office.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee
