BCH – Shared Worksite with BCGEU Members
September 22, 2025
To: All MoveUP Members at BCH in Terrace, BC
As you know, the members of BCGEU and PEA are currently on strike fighting for a fair collective agreement that includes wage improvements that accurately reflect the value of what public sector workers bring to our communities. Their fight will have a very real impact on our bargaining with BCHydro as their deal will likely foreshadow what happens for your next collective agreement.
We have been informed that the British Columbia General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) share our worksite in Terrace, BC which could be targeted for increased job action if BCGEU escalates their strike across the province. Here is what you need to know:
- If you are scheduled to work on-site and encounter a picket line upon arrival, DO NOT CROSS THE PICKET LINE.
We are in contact with organizers at BCGEU and will attempt to provide notice if your worksite is targeted for picketing, but strikes are fluid and things can change quickly.
If you encounter a picket line at your worksite when you are scheduled to work on-site, contact Alina Teymory @ ateymory@moveuptogether.ca for further instructions. We will support you through this process. - If you are scheduled to work remotely and hear that your worksite is being picketed, you must continue to work remotely. We will update remote workers on actions you can take in solidarity with BCGEU members, but for now you are instructed to work as usual from your remote location.
- If you are scheduled to work on-site but are directed to work remotely upon arrival at the site, follow your employer’s instructions. Return home to work remotely and contact Alina Teymory @ ateymory@moveuptogether.ca for further instructions.
