BCGEU – New Employment Equity Committee

To: MoveUP Job Stewards at BCGEU
Your employer has informed us through our Joint Labour Management Committee of their intent to create an Employment Equity Committee. This joint committee will include representatives from both the Admin and Representative Components. It is our understanding, that this committee will assist the employer in finding creative ways that the BCGEU can use towards bettering inclusivity in your workplace.
We will have the opportunity for two stewards to act as representatives with an additional alternate position. Those stewards who are interested to join this new committee are asked to email Vice President Christy Slusarenko at cslusarenko@moveuptogether.ca . Should there be more interest than spots available we will discuss how to best proceed during your next Job Steward meeting.
Please submit your name as an expression of interest by 4:30 pm on Monday, March 9 so we can hopefully have the final decision of who will sit on the committee at your Job Stewards meeting Tuesday, March 10.
