BC Transit – Bargaining Update #3

February 23, 2026

To: All MoveUP members at BC Transit

Your bargaining committee acknowledges and understands the concerns members may have about how much time has passed since our last contract expired. We also understand that a renewed collective agreement is a high priority for our members.

Your bargaining committee met with your employer on February 10-12 to continue the process of renewing the collective agreement.

Both parties tabled their full monetary proposal packages and continued with interest-based discussions on a few non-monetary proposals that remain outstanding.

We are proud to say that we are either ahead of or on pace with most public sector bargaining tables in British Columbia. There are various external factors that are contributing to the delay such as the ongoing uncertainty about the Public Sector Mandate and the status of negotiations between BC Transit and our friends in the largest bargaining unit at your workplace, Unifor.

Your bargaining committee is closely monitoring these external factors, and we are prepared to make every effort to conclude bargaining and bring you the best possible contract for ratification as soon as possible.

Future bargaining dates are scheduled for late March, and the parties will schedule more dates in the Spring as needed.

We appreciate the conversations we’ve had with members and the expressions of gratitude we’ve received. We encourage you to reach out to your bargaining committee if you have any questions. Your continued support is appreciated.

In Solidarity,

Your Bargaining Committee:

Tiffany Rivers, Executive Councillor
Glen Redden, Executive Councillor
Andrew Cheverie, Union Representative
