Job Action
Konica Minolta Business Solutions – Protecting Your Work
March 18, 2025
To: All MoveUP members at Konica Minolta Business Solutions
On March 13, 2025, your union initiated job action by implementing a uniform ban as a sign of solidarity. However, before and even during our first day of job action, we found out that the employer had flown in someone not in your bargaining unit from out of province to perform bargaining unit work. To make matters worse, the employer also reassigned work from a fully capable and available bargaining unit member.
We view this as a violation of Section 68 of the BC Labour Relations Code. Section 68 strictly prohibits employers from using non-bargaining unit workers to replace members participating in a legal lockout or strike (job action). The employer’s actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for your rights and the law.
What Your Union Is Doing
In response, your union took action and has filed an application with the BC Labour Relations Board against the employer for violating Section 68. We are committed to standing in solidarity and taking action to protect your rights.
How You Can Help
If you see or hear of any further incidents involving non-bargaining unit members performing bargaining unit work, please report it immediately to your union representative. Your involvement is essential to hold the employer accountable.
In Solidarity,
