To: New MoveUP members at Capilano University
Dear student employees at Capilano University.
On behalf of our union, I would like to personally welcome all of you to the MoveUP family. We are thrilled that the student employees at Capilano University have chosen to join a union and chosen us to represent you both collectively and individually with your employer. This is a role we take very seriously, and we thank you for entrusting this to us.
Being part of a union means you now have a stronger and more unified voice in your workplace. This is a critical part of shaping the terms and conditions that affect your work environment. We are excited to meet all of you soon to discuss the issues at your workplace, find out what matters most to you, and negotiate a collective agreement that best suits you and your co-workers.
Whether you are new to a unionized environment or have been in a unionized position in the past, we realize that you may have many questions about how being a MoveUP member will affect you at your workplace.
