ICBC – Auto Claims Model – Psychological Health Survey
March 14, 2025
To: All ICBC Members in the Auto Claims Specialist I, II, III and IV Positions
As mentioned in our previous bulletin of March 6, 2025 your union has filed a grievance regarding the psycho-social impacts that the introduction of the Auto Claims Model (ACM) has created for our members.
Your union met with the employer on March 11 where we brought forward the numerous issues our members in the Auto Claims Specialist roles are facing. While the employer acknowledged that more training is on the horizon, we’re not confident it will alleviate the concerns our members are facing on a daily basis.
A lot of our members have been reaching out to their job stewards and union representatives to express their frustration and the variety of mental and/or physical health challenges this ACM has caused. In order to properly convey your issues, we have developed a survey which asks members to identify the impacts they have experienced when it comes to these ACM changes. When completing the survey, please view these questions through the lens of the ACM impacts only and how you’ve been affected since the introduction of ACM.
We ask members to spend a few minutes to complete the survey by 4:30pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
In solidarity,
Brian Martens, Executive Board Member
Yudon Garie, Union Representative
