TransLink – Cyberattack and Credit Monitoring

January 8, 2021

To: All MoveUP members at TransLink

Your union would like to encourage you to take advantage of the two year credit monitoring offer made by the employer.  At this stage of the process there seems to be more questions than answers and it makes sense to use caution.

Your union has been advised that some members have taken the first step of requesting an activation code but have not followed through by inputting the code into the monitoring website.  The instructions, as per the employer bulletin, are as follows:

  • call the TransLink Incident Response Call Centre at 1-833-971-3283 to get your activation code, and
  • once you have your code, please visit mytrueidentity.ca to enroll for the credit monitoring services.

As mentioned, both steps must be followed in order to activate the credit monitoring.

Please make an effort to follow through on this process.

As mentioned in the attached bulletin from TransLink, please heed to the following advice:

If the reports you receive from the credit monitoring service indicate that you may be the victim of identity theft, please visit antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca for information on steps to take at that time.

As always, if you have any questions about the above or anything else please contact a Job Steward or your Union Representative Parm Sandhar.

In solidarity

Shawn Lakusta, Union Representative
