Seaspan ULC – 2023 Wage Increase

To: All MoveUP Members at Seaspan ULC


MoveUP concluded bargaining with your employer, Seaspan ULC, in November 2021 for the collective agreement which remains in effect until February 28, 2025.

As part of the round of bargaining, your union negotiated a wage increase of 2% effective March 1, 2023. We would only accept this amount for an increase if we also got a ‘me too’ clause with the ILWU and CMSG at Seaspan ULC. The ‘me too’ clause applies to any wage increase that the ILWU and CMSG received, inclusive of any cost of living adjustments (COLA) for each year.

We are happy to announce that we have confirmed with the employer that the COLA adjustment amount for 2023 was 5%. This means that all Seaspan ULC members of MoveUP will receive a wage increase of an additional 3%, retroactive to March 1, 2023. I have been advised that your payroll department is working on the retroactive calculations and payment will be made as soon as possible.
