EC Area # 1425 represents members employed at BC & Yukon Building Trades, BC Construction Industry Rehab Plan, Boilermakers Lodge 359, Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 2, Carpenters Union Millwright Local 2736, CMAW 1995, Construction and Specialized Workers (Local 1611, Training Society, and Medical & Benefit Plan), Elevator Constructors Local 82, Heat, Frost Ins and Asb Workers Union Local 118, Ironworkers (Trade Improvement Plan and Local 97), IUOE (Local 115 and Training Association), Labourers Advancement Fund, Operating Engineers (Benefits and Pension, and Local 882), Piledrivers Local 2404, Piping Industry Apprenticeship Board, Plumbers (Local 170, Local 170 Metal Trades, 170 Welfare Plan and Local 324), and Sheet Metal (Local 280 and Local 280 Benefit Plan.
Term Ending: April 30, 2020
In accordance with the constitution, we are running a by-election for the above councillor position. Duties of the executive council are detailed in article 7.4 of the constitution.
As an executive councillor in your workplace, you are the spokesperson for your union. You are a vital link between the membership and the elected leadership. You, along with other job stewards, speak for your fellow members in the day to day relations between our union and management. In addition you attend five executive council meetings a year where you can participate in the direction and decision making of your union.
Deadline for nominations to be received at the union office is Monday, July 17, 2017.
