FortisBC-CSC – Commuting in Unsafe Weather

To: All MoveUP members at FortisBC-CSC
I have learned that many of you have reached out to your job stewards with safety concerns regarding commuting to work at the office during this week’s snowstorm.
I share these concerns, and I write to inform you that, with the commuting challenges you faced in December of 2022 in mind, your Alternate Work Location Committee proposed to the employer that we work together on a plan that would enable more of you to work remotely in these situations.
Unfortunately, after several discussions, the employer told us that they were not interested in agreeing to such an arrangement. We remain open to resuming the discussion if this should change in the future.
