Coast Mountain Bus – IT Outage Update

December 7, 2020

To: All MoveUP members at Coast Mountain Bus

Your union is aware of the recent update provided by TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond.  For those who may not have had a chance to read the statement, it is available here.

Your union is in continual contact with the employer regarding the ransomware attack.  We are advocating on your behalf to ensure we become aware of all relevant facts and that accordingly your rights are protected.

We are sure all members are aware that this is an evolving situation.  We are working to address issues as they arise.

In the meantime if you are concerned about your personal situation with regard to the ransomware attack, we suggest that you take advantage of the one year subscriptions that will be offered by the employer for credit monitoring and fraud protection services.  We will of course continue to assess the needs of our members as this situation develops.  We are committed to ensuring our member’s interests are protected.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Union Representative Parm Sandhar.

In solidarity,

Shawn Lakusta, Union Representative|
Christy Slusarenko, Vice-President of Combined Units
