Coast Mountain Bus Company-Spread Over Policy Grievance Update

October 7, 2020

To: All MoveUP members at Coast Mountain Bus

Your bargaining committee hopes everyone in the membership is doing well as we transition into fall. Our membership has been pivotal over the last seven months in ensuring that the transit system in the lower mainland remains operational. We applaud your continued hard work and effort.

Your union has received the stage 2 response for the spread over policy grievance after virtually meeting with the employer on August 6, 2020. To no surprise, the employer has denied the grievance. I will be referring the file to the Arbitration Review Committee comprised of your elected Union Vice-Presidents. The Arbitration Review Committee will assess the merits of the file and whether it should proceed to arbitration.

I will communicate further developments on this file as we proceed.

Please feel free to contact me at psandhar@moveuptogether.ca if you have any questions.

In solidarity,

Vivian Ho, Executive Councillor
Brendan Faustin, Executive Councillor
Ruth Ritchie (retired)
Parm Sandhar, Union Representative
