BC Regional Council of Carpenters – Bargaining Update # 6 – Tentative Agreement Reached

To: All MoveUP members at BCRCC
Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative collective agreement with your Employer, BC Regional Council of Carpenters.
Some highlights of the tentative agreement include:
- No concessions
- 3-year term, ending July 31, 2024
Year 1 3.5% – August 1, 2021 (fully retroactive)
Year 2 3.0% – August 1, 2022
Year 3 3.0% – August 1, 2023
- Paid statutory holiday for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Increase of employer pension contributions from $5.00 to $5.20 an hour
- Various paid and unpaid leaves
- Recall Period
- $500 annual training reimbursement
- Increased Vacation Entitlement
- Previously lost hour bank for benefit plan; eligible members will be frozen at 780 hours until they require this benefit.
Your bargaining committee is strongly recommending ratification of the tentative collective agreement.
We will be holding a meeting on September 12, 2022, to review the tentative collective agreement with you. In attendance will be your bargaining committee as well as Vice President of Combined Units, Christy Slusarenko. This will also be your opportunity to vote on the tentative collective agreement.

TIME: 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
PLACE: Zoom (Link to online meeting will be sent to home email)
Please make sure that you keep an eye out for information on how to vote as it will be sent to your home emails, along with the memorandum of agreement (MOA) package, that will form the amendments to the collective agreement.
We ask that once received, you review the information and please be prepared to ask questions at the ratification meeting so you are able to make an informed decision as to whether you will be voting “Yes” to the tentative agreement or “No” to the tentative agreement.
