Meeting Notice
BC Federation of Labour – Impasse
September 1, 2022
To: All MoveUP members at BCFED
“What we desire for ourselves, we wish for all.”
Today, September 1st, 2022, your bargaining committee and your employer came to a standstill on collective bargaining. Although we have been able to achieve some nonmonetary improvements, you were clear with us during our meeting on June 27th that your priorities for this round of bargaining was a comprehensive and equitable work-from-home policy and fair wage increases. We have reached an impasse on these two items.
While talks have broken down, your bargaining committee is still committed to negotiate with the employer on our members’ behalf.
Your committee has begun the process of preparing for a strike vote. We are scheduling a membership meeting for September 6th, 2022, to discuss what a potential job action would look like.
The membership meeting will be held over Zoom. The meeting details are as follows:
Date: Tuesday, September 6th
Time: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Place: Zoom (click here to register for the meeting)
Please ensure that you are registered for the MoveUP member portal with your home email to receive all important bargaining updates.
