FortisBC – Bargaining Update #9

To: All MoveUP members at FortisBC
We write to update you about our negotiations with the employer, which last took place on February 27 and 28, 2024.
Over the course of these two days, the parties continued their discussions around outstanding non-monetary proposals.
On the first day, the employer withdrew a substantial number of their proposals which we had identified as concessionary and had therefore denied, considering them to be at impasse and not up for discussion.
On the second day, after further discussion and exchange of counter proposals, the parties were able to tentatively sign off on fifteen more items.
To date, we have now settled the bulk of non-monetary items. Several more will need to be dealt with when we return to the table, and then we will be able to present our monetary proposal to the employer.
Our next scheduled bargaining dates are April 3, 4, and 5, with additional days scheduled for April 8, 9, 24, 29, 30, May 1, 13, 14, and 15, 2024.
