CMAW – Tentative Agreement Reached


November 24, 2023

To: All MoveUP members at CMAW


Your bargaining committee met with the Employer for collective bargaining at the MoveUP Offices in Burnaby on November 9, and November 23, 2023.

The parties have concluded a tentative agreement discussed and tabled all items including monetary proposals.

The parties have signed off proposals on:

improved language on

  • Management rights (fair and reasonable clause)
  • Right of Representation (New)
  • Guaranteed union representation for any meeting that is or could become disciplinary, and any meeting related to medical fitness, medical accommodation, conduct or competence, or any other matter related to an employee’s terms and conditions of employment.
  • Statutory Holidays –inclusion of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
  • Confirmed health and welfare benefits contribution rates at parity as is done for CMAW members
  • Confirmed pension contribution rates at parity as is done for CMAW members
  • Expanded definition of immediate family for bereavement leave
  • Impact of Legislation (New)
  • Improved Pregnancy, Parental, and Adoption Leave Language
  • First Responder Leave (5 paid days)
  • 3 year agreement
      • Year 1 6.00%
      • Year 2 4.50%
      • Year 3 4.50%

The parties agree to unanimously recommend acceptance of this Memorandum of Agreement to their respective principals.

We will be holding a meeting on November 29, 2023, at 4 p.m. via Teams in order to review the tentative agreement with you.

In attendance will be me (Daniel Storms), your Union Representative and members of our bargaining committee to answer any questions you may have about the Memorandum of Agreement.
