Canadian Merchant Service Guild-Western Branch (CMSG) Collective Agreement Ratified
February 28, 2023
To: All MoveUP Members at CMSG
We are pleased to announce that the collective agreement has been ratified.
Some highlights of the new agreement include:
- 5 year agreement with full retroactivity from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2026 as follows:
–Year 1 3.0% January 1, 2022**
–Year 2 2.0% January 1, 2023** [confirmed as 6%]
–Year 3 2.0% January 1, 2024**
–Year 4 2.0% January 1, 2025**
–Year 5 2.0% January 1, 2026**
**The wage increases in Year 2 through Year 5 shall be 2.0 percent, or the established rate of the National Guild [National Guild funds the Western Branch] for that year for all its employees across Canada, whichever is higher.
- National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
- Updated and improved pregnancy, parental and adoption leave
- Management Rights – employer commits to act fairly and reasonably
- First Responder Leave
- Inclusion of ESA Sick Leave regulation into agreement
- Domestic and Sexual Violence language
- Improved discipline and investigation language
- Improved expedited arbitration language
- Improved right of representation
