FortisBC – Bargaining Update #19 – Retroactive Payment of Wages

To: All MoveUP Members at FortisBC
We write to update you about the retroactive payment of wages negotiated in our newly ratified collective agreement.
As of today, the company reports that they have been working on the necessary calculations, and they estimate that payments will be made in pay period 23, which will be paid out on November 7, 2024.
If they revise this estimate, we will update you via another bulletin.
For members on LTD who worked hours between the beginning of the retroactive period (July 1, 2023) and the date their medical leave began:
We are working to ensure that any retroactive amount that is paid out will not interfere with your normal payments, and that your claims will be retroactively adjusted to reflect your updated rate of pay on your last day worked. The company has not yet confirmed whether there will be any issues getting their LTD insurance provider to do this. We will update you as soon as we have more information.
