DESCRIPTION:MoveUP Environment Committee will be hosting an event at the Pacific Northwest Raptors sanctuary on September 14\, 2019. If you are interested in joining us on an informational tour about birds of prey please join us. For more information on what the event entails please visit the Pacific Northwest Raptors website at www.pnwraptors.com. \nDate: September 14\, 2019\nLocation: The Raptors Centre – 1877 Herd Road\, Duncan\, BC\nTime: 11:45 am arrival. We are scheduled for at 12:45 pm tour and 1:30 pm demonstration.\nPrice: $20/person \n– come and bring a lunch for a picnic at 11:45. Our union will be participating in the Vancouver Pride Parade on August 4th\, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. \nAt this year’s parade\, we will be recommitting our focus to our campaign to end the discriminatory blood ban on men who have sex with men. To learn about this campaign and to support our cause\, please visit moveuptogether.ca/bloodban. \nAt this year’s parade\, we will also be honouring the original intention of the pride march on what is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. The Stonewall riots were an uprising and series of demonstrations by members of the LGBTQ2S+ community against a police raid that occurred on June 28\, 1969 at the Stonewall Inn in Manhattan\, New York City. DESCRIPTION:MoveUP invites you and your family to come out to Playland on July 13\, 2019 for a day of rides and a barbeque get together. \nOur day will include: \n\nAdmission to Playland with All Day Play pass\nUnlimited access to over 30 rides & attractions (including basketball and rock climbing)\nFour hours reserved in a private BBQ location at the Flume special events area with tents and picnic tables from 11AM to 3PM.\nFace painting in this area from 11:30 pm to 2:30 pm\nA BBQ Buffet from 12 pm to 1:30 pm which includes beef\, chicken\, veggie burgers\, hotdogs\, mixed green salad\, potato salad\, potato chips\, mini cupcakes and fountain pop.\nAs we are doing a larger group this year there will be 2 separate eating times – half of the attendees will get one colour wristband for 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm and the other half will get a different colour wristband for 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm.  This is for buffet lineup only.  Everyone can be in the area at the same time.\n\nWe anticipate this event will sell out fast so do not delay in registering for this event! \nTickets are:\n$30.00 – OVER 48″ in Height\n$20.00 – UNDER 48″ in Height\nChildren 3 + Under – Free \nThere is a limit of 4 tickets per family – member must attend. \nWe must know if the ticket is for someone 48″ and taller OR under 48″ – for wristband distribution. \nTickets for this event will go on sale at 12:00 pm this Wednesday June 12th\, at that time please click HERE. \nParking is not included.  On Site parking is $13.00. \nTickets MUST be picked up between 10 am and 11 am at Gate 13 (off of Hastings) – See map. MoveUP’s Events and Social Planning Committee volunteers will be available at Gate 13 to hand out tickets.  This is the only time and place that you will be able to pick up your tickets. \nWe look forward to seeing you!

DESCRIPTION:MoveUP stands with the LGBTQ2S+ community in pride and solidarity. Our union will be participating in the Prince George Pride Parade on July 6\, 2019 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. \nAll members\, families and friends are welcome to join Executive Councillor member Colleen Rayner\, and other members to walk in the parade with our banner\, flags and fun items to hand out. If you’re interested in participating by walking with us please email HERE.  The group will be meeting at the FortisBC Building at 9:00 am and heading over to the staging area right across the street at 2nd and Dominion at 9:25 am. \nThis event sees over 1\,500 participants and spectators coming together to celebrate Northern BC’s biggest Pride event. \nThe pride parade provides an opportunity to show our continued support of the lesbian\, gay\, bi-sexual\, transgender and queer community\, their friends and allies in celebration of the unique spirit and culture of the LGBTQ2S+ community. DESCRIPTION:MoveUP’s Events and Social Planning Committee invites you to attend the Saturday\, July 6th game between the Victoria HarbourCats and the Bellingham Bells. The Victoria HarbourCats are part of the West Coast League\, one of the premier collegiate summer leagues in North America. This league is known as the “Diamond Standard” of summer collegiate baseball and the players are MLB prospects. \nThe Bells and HarbourCats renew their North Division rivalry in game two of their three-game set\, the Bells only regular season visit to Victoria this year. It’s Saturday night baseball at its best!  The Bells and HarbourCats rivalry will be as strong as ever in 2019. \nMoveUP members are welcome with up to 3 guests for a maximum of 4 tickets -(a MoveUP member must attend the game). \nEvent Date: Saturday July 6\, 2019 \nDoors Open at 5:30 – Game starts at 6:35. \nTickets are $15 each for guests over the age of four. DESCRIPTION:MoveUP members are invited to an afternoon at Hastings Racecourse. \nMembers\, along with one guest\, can watch the races trackside located right by the finish line. \nCheer on our MoveUP sponsored horse running in a feature race. \nMoveUP will provide hot and cold appetizers as well as one drink ticket per ticket holder.  Appetizers will be available starting between 2:15 – 2:30pm. \nTicket price is $15 per ticket.
