***AMENDED*** Meeting dates amended
Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative collective agreement with your employer, Avis.
Some highlights of the tentative agreement include:
- General wage increases: year one – 4%, year two -3%, year three – 3%
- Three-year deal from June 1, 2022, to May 31, 2024
- Year one general wage increase will be retro-active
- One-time wage adjustment for Shuttlers of $0.50 upon ratification
- Effective May 31, 2023, vacation entitlement will include thirty days of vacation for employees at their 25th year
- New statutory holiday: Truth and Reconciliation Day
- Vision Care entitlement increase from $300 to $350 each 24 months
- Article 23 Overtime Hours/Premium Pay amended to include:
“If an employee is required to work two (2) hours or more in excess of their regular shift, the
employee will be provided with a fifteen-dollar ($15) meal allowance, which will be added to
their normal pay cheque. The employee, if they choose to, will be entitled to a one-half (1/2)
hour unpaid meal break.”
Your bargaining committee is strongly recommending ratification of the tentative collective agreement.
We will be holding a meeting on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Victoria Airport and on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the Vancouver Airport in order to review the tentative agreement with you. In attendance will be your bargaining committee. This will also be your opportunity to vote on the tentative agreement. The vote will be conducted by secret ballot the day of the meeting. Please make every effort to attend.
