SHUTTLER FACT SHEET #1 – Overtime – How Does It Work?

Under Article 23, part-time employees are eligible for overtime (OT) pay at time and one half (1 ½) after the employee has worked 8 hours in a work day or 40 hours in a work week.

OT is distributed on a seniority basis, (highest to lowest seniority), to employees on shift or coming on shift at the time the OT is required.

While Managers authorize OT and are bound to follow the Collective Agreement, mistakes can and do occasionally happen.  Mistakes can cost everyone!

All MoveUP members asked to work OT are advised before accepting to inquire if those above you in seniority have been asked first and have and declined.
