Sheet Metal Industry Training Board – Tentative Agreement Reached

To: All MoveUP members at the Sheet Metal Industry Training Board


Your bargaining committee is pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with the Employer for a first Collective Agreement.

Highlights of the agreement are:

  • 4 year term, from May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2022
  • Retroactive to January 1, 2019, wage increases as follows:

Receptionist & General Administrative Assistant:                   $21.60/hr

Associate Registrar:                                                                        $26.55/hr

Office Administrator/Accountant                                                $31.62/hr

  • Effective  May 1, 2019, 1% wage increase for all employees
  • Effective May 1, 2020, 2% wage increase for all employees
  • Effective May 1, 2021, 2% wage increase for all employees
  • Pension contributions to the Union Pension Plan of $3.70 per hour paid for all employees
  • 12 days paid sick leave per year for full time employees, pro-rated for part time employees
  • Effective January 1, 2021, employees reaching 5 years of service will receive 20 days paid vacation
  • Union Representation and grievance procedure

Your bargaining committee is recommending acceptance of this agreement, and a ratification meeting will be held as follows:
