*CORRECTION* – CIATU – Tentative Agreement Reached – Meeting and Voting Instructions

We are pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative collective agreement with your employer with no concessions. The tentative agreement includes:

3 year agreement from May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2026 as follows:

Category 1 (currently $23.68) [rates compounded]

Year 1—May 1, 2023

2.5% (retroactive to May 1, 2023)

Year 2—May 1, 2024 

3.25%

Year 3—May 1, 2025

2.5%

Category 2  (currently $28.68) [rates compounded]

Year 1—May 1, 2023

3.00% retroactive to May 1, 2023

at ratification $2.25 per hour                                           =11.08%=$31.85

Year 2—May 1, 2024 

3.25%                                                                             =14.41%=$32.89

Year 3—May 1, 2025

3.00%                                                                             =17.84%=$33.88

Category 3  (currentyl $31.57) [rates compounded]

Year 1—May 1, 2023

3.00% retroactive

at ratification $2.25 per hour                                           =10.34%= $34.83

Year 2—May 1, 2024 

3.25%                                                                            =13.92%=$35.97

Year 3—May 1, 2025

3.00%                                                                             =17.34%=$37.04

Category 4 (currently $33.82) [rates compounded]

Year 1—May 1, 2023

3.00% retroactive

at ratification $2.25 per hour                                             = 9.86%=$37.15

Year 2—May 1, 2024 

3.25%                                                                            =13.43%=$38.36

Year 3—May 1, 2025

3.00%                                                                            =16.83%=$39.51

The training differential is now $1.50 per hour and the supervisor differential is now $2.00 per hour.

The bargaining committee will be consulted regarding recommended contributions to the health and welfare plan and to the pension plan.

In Year 1 of the agreement, $0.15 per hour will be allocated to the health and welfare plan and $0.10 per hour will be allocated to the pension plan. These payments will be retroactive to May 1, 2023.

  • Grievance Procedure and Timelines
  • Right of Representation
  • Improved Employee Investigation and Discipline Process Language
  • Improved Bullying and Harassment Process Language
  • Improved Recall Language
  • New Language on Workplace Closures
  • Letter of Understanding: Shift Schedules
  • Improved Language on Site Security Health and Safety

The parties agree to unanimously recommend acceptance of this Memorandum of Agreement to their respective principals.

We will be holding a meeting on November 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. via MS Teams or Zoom with the details sent to members in order to review the tentative agreement with you.

In attendance will be me (Daniel Storms), your Union Representative and members of our bargaining committee to answer any questions you may have about the Memorandum of Agreement.

The meeting details are as follows:

Voting closes: Monday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m.
