Job Action

PrairieCoast – 72 Hour Strike Notice

April 28, 2023

To: All MoveUP members at PCE

As of 8:00am this morning, MoveUP has officially served 72 hours strike notice on your employer.

What does this mean for you? At the moment, everything is status quo.

We will all be in a position to begin job action early Monday morning. This does not mean we will be going on a full-scale strike on Monday, but we will legally be able to start performing a variety of job actions as discussed at our membership meeting on Tuesday.

Your employer tabled a substandard offer to the Union yesterday which featured a different wage increase for every person and a variable wage scale that would allow your employer to create further inequities amongst members.

You, the employees, deserve better. Your union and bargaining committee is committed to negotiating a fair and equitable collective agreement for you.

We will continue to keep the membership posted as things develop. I recommend following MoveUP on social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram as we will be sharing information to the public through these channels.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please see your Bargaining Committee members or contact Sara Colliss at scolliss@moveuptogether.ca or 604-837-9471 or Andrew Cheverie at acheverie@moveuptogether.ca or 604-299-0324.

In solidarity,

Your bargaining committee,
Brad Lowe, Job Steward
Jill Boyd, Job Steward
Sara Colliss, Union Representative
Andrew Cheverie, Union Representative
