Westland Insurance – September 19th Holiday

As you have likely heard, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has heralded that Monday, September 19, the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, will be a federal holiday.

Premier John Horgan has also declared Monday, September 19, a day of remembrance this year to align with the federal decision to mark the Queen’s funeral with a holiday.

As confirmed in Premier Horgan’s statement on National Day of Mourning to mark the Queen’s funeral, and due to our federal holiday recognition language in Article 7, we have received confirmation from your employer that September 19 will be a day off for employees at the Mill Bay and Lake Cowichan locations and that employees’ pay will not be affected by the closure on this day.
