CUPE BC and Locals – Bargaining Update #3

To: All MoveUP Members at CUPEBC and Locals
Your bargaining committee is meeting with the employer’s bargaining committee to continue negotiations on July 7, 2022. We’re returning to the table to further discuss the employer’s last monetary offer that was tabled on June 6, 2022. As we made you aware during our meeting on June 8, we had advised CUPE that we would not be considering any offer that isn’t fair or take into consideration the crucial role the administrative professionals fill in the division office and locals. After our meeting, we discussed the situation further with CUPE and have agreed to meet with them to see if there might be a path to a deal.
We are hopeful that CUPE has finally heard the message that you deserve better. We have agreed to reconvene negotiations with the employer, and the committee will be responding with definitive next steps to move these negotiations forward.
