Black Top Cabs – Health and Safety Update

April 11, 2022

To: MoveUP Members at Black Top Cabs

Further to the March 29 bulletin, your union followed up with the employer on our occupational health and safety concerns. The employer informed us that the issue of inappropriate storage was resolved on April 8, 2022. In addition, several portable air purifiers have been ordered, two of which will be positioned in your work area. All filters are to be replaced every four months. We will continue our discussion on ergonomic equipment with the employer. Should you have any further concern, please report it to your job steward.

In pursuant of Article 17.08 of collective agreement, we hope to re-establish a Joint Health and Safety Committee. If you are interested in becoming a worker representative, please contact Christy Slusarenko, your Vice President.

In solidarity,

Anny Chen, Union Representative
