BCGEU – Bargaining Update # 1
June 8, 2021
To: All MoveUP members at BCGEU
We are happy to report the bargaining committee has had a couple of meetings since our general membership meeting on April 20, 2021. Our meetings have been to review the notes from the general membership meeting and revise some of the proposals.
We have also reviewed the memorandum of agreement between the BCGEU and the UWU. In our discussions around our proposals, we have created a few new proposals based on items achieved by the UWU that we feel are important for our members to achieve.
We will be heading into bargaining on June 24, 2021, and June 25, 2021. Your committee is working hard and we now have all our additional proposals finalized by the committee and we will be sending those for the appropriate approvals from the President of MoveUP.
We are excited to get to bargaining and will be informing all of you after each bargaining session with your employer.
We will all need to show solidarity as we work through the bargaining process. Your committee knows we can count on all of you to support the work we are doing.
