Enterprise – Collective Agreement and Membership Update

March 2, 2021

To: All MoveUP members at Enterprise

Your union is pleased to report that we recently received the final signed copy of the new collective agreement from your employer.  We have placed a copy of the agreement on MoveUP’s website – click here for your reference.

Your union has received several inquiries about how Enterprise is doing in general and when a recall is likely to happen.  We continue to monitor the situation and we will advocate for our members to be recalled as soon as possible.

The entire travel industry is currently struggling.  We have seen layoffs in both the airline and hotel industries.  Unfortunately for those workers who are not covered by collective agreements, the layoffs have been permanent.

Your union is hopeful that the arrival of vaccines and the subsequent inoculation across all countries will allow travel bans to be lifted and we will start to see an increase in travel through the Vancouver airport.  We all hope this will happen as soon as possible.  It is our understanding that all the car rental companies are anticipating increased rentals at some point in the summer.

We have been advised that YVR management is in the early stages of developing a plan for reopening more of its facilities as they start to see an increase in traffic.  We are pleased to see that this is happening but at this point no one is really sure when we can expect to see things return to normal.

Your union will continue to monitor the situation and as mentioned we will advocate to have our members recalled at every opportunity and as soon as possible.
