Supporting Member Wellness

April 29, 2020

To: All MoveUP Members

In these challenging times, many of us find ourselves struggling mentally and emotionally. That can happen as we find ourselves isolated from friends and family, working from home, or having to go into workplaces where there are health and safety concerns.

We all need to beware of our mental well-being and to check in on ourselves and seek help if we need it.

If you are struggling and need resources, here are a few that we recommend:

  1. Wellness Together Canada: Mental Health and Substance Use Support – Wellness self-assessment, self-guided courses, group coaching, counselling by text or phone.
  2. COVID-19 Psychological First Aid Service – For people of B.C. experiencing stress associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
  3. Babylon by TELUS Health – A free healthcare mobile app that allows you to check symptoms, consult with doctors, and access your health records.

Remember that it is also important to stay connected with your family and friends with phone calls or video chats. Make sure to also wash your hands frequently, stay at least two metres away from others, and be kind to yourself and others.

You can find more resources on MoveUPTogether.ca/FlattenTheCurve.

If you know of any other mental health resources, please share them with Niki Schnurr by email at nschnurr@moveuptogether.ca. The more mental health resources we can share with each other at this time, the better.

In solidarity,
