Coast Mountain Bus – United Way Campaign

July 26, 2018

To: All MoveUP Members at CMBC

MoveUP is proud to partner with the United Way of the Lower Mainland (UWLM) and several of our employers, including CMBC, for the annual workplace giving campaign. The UWLM’s work helps make our communities stronger by helping kids to thrive at school, getting low-income people healthy, nutritious food, and reducing seniors’ isolation. We’ve worked with the UWLM for several years and we’re looking forward to another successful campaign.

This year’s campaign is taking on a more collaborative approach, pairing with Unifor 111. Unifor 111 has a long standing practice of running successful United Way campaigns during their sign up. We are encouraging our members to join the Unifor campaign. MoveUp members should expect that Unifor reps in the depots may approach them during the campaign to fill out pledge forms. Any members that wish to contribute to the campaign can drop off their completed pledge forms with the Unifor rep in the depot during sign up, or send inter-office to Sierra Fink (C620).

For members at Gateway pledge forms can be returned to Yannaka Forster, Harpreed Bhumrah, Jason Davidson or Julie Davidson as they are serving as MoveUP designates for this campaign. Members in Security please contact Garrick Nipp, and those at Lost Property please contact Sierra Fink or Tapestry Andrews.

As in past years, all donations raised by our members will go towards the MoveUP total. Any payroll donation would not take effect until January 2019.

The United Way is working to build healthy, caring and inclusive communities. By donating and participating, YOU are working to do the same. 100% of your donation stays in the Lower Mainland, and changes lives in your community.

Thank you all for your past contributions and for participating in this year’s campaign.

In Solidarity,

Christy Slusarenko, Vice-President of Combined Units
