Volunteers Needed to Help the Women in Need Society

Thursday, August 29, 2013
To: All MoveUP Members in Calgary & Area

Each year United Way of Calgary partners with the Calgary District Labour Council to sponsor a Labour Day of Caring. This year the day will support the Women in Need Society (WINS).

Volunteers are needed to help sort clothing, hang clothes and assist in WINS’ Dover Store location restocking shelves. Please consider taking a few hours out of your weekend to make a difference.

Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon
WINS Sort Facility and Dover Store location – 3525 26 Ave SE, Calgary

Please email Holly Hefferman at holly.hefferman@calgaryunitedway.org or phone 403-441-2271 if you are able to volunteer.

Whether or not you can attend on the 28th, WINS also needs donations of gently-used clothing, working household items, electronics (no computers please), small appliances and furniture – especially after the flooding earlier this summer. If you or people you know have these items you can drop them off at the location above anytime, or bring them with you on the 28th!

Please see the attached poster for more information.

In Solidarity,

Gwenne Farrell
Vice-President
