Join MoveUP at the Fight for $15

To: All MoveUP Members in the Lower Mainland – (Please Post and/or Circulate)

This Friday, join MoveUP members and hundreds of workers from across Canada to fight for fair wages in the first National Day of Action to Fight for $15.  Come find your fellow MoveUP members at the rally, just look for our flags or the blimp.

The fight for a $15 minimum wage affects workers across our province. BC has fallen behind the rest of Canada and now has the second lowest minimum wage in the country, even though we have the highest cost of living.  And the picture of a low-wage worker in BC isn't what you might expect. Eighty-two per cent are 20 or older. Nearly two-thirds are women.  And 15,500 are over 65. It’s time to end poverty wages.

This Friday, let’s join together and tell the BC government to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour so that nobody is left behind. It’s only fair.

Come down to the rally, bring your friends and join us for a social event after

5:00pm - Gather for music and entertainment at Canada Place (999 Canada Place in Vancouver)

5:30pm - Speeches

6:15pm - After Party at the Rogue Wetbar, 601 W Cordova St, Vancouver
