Join MoveUP at the Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade

Thursday, March 20, 2014
To: All MoveUP JS/EC/Distributors in the Lower Mainland - Please Post

Every Spring, tens of thousands of people from all different backgrounds across the Lower Mainland gather in Vancouver’s Little India neighbourhood to celebrate Vaisakhi, a day that marks both the New Year and the anniversary of the establishment of the Khalsa – one of Sikhism’s most important events. This year’s parade is on Saturday, April 12.

As in the past, MoveUP members are invited to join the Multicultural Committee to hand out goodies to parade-goers. It’s a great way to participate in the day’s events and raise the profile of our union. See photos from our table last year here, on our Facebook page.

Our table will be on the east side of Main Street between 56th and 57th Avenues, and we will be there from 9:00-2:00 pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please email

Rain or shine, it’s always a vibrant, fun, family-friendly event and we hope you’ll join us!

Thank you,
Randy Cheung and Eric Liu
Multicultural Committee Co-Chairs
