Hastings Entertainment, Inc. - Bargaining Update #9

To all MoveUP members at Hastings Entertainment, Inc.:

The Union and the Employer met at the Labour Relations Board for mediation on November 15 and 17, 2017. The Employer has provided the Union with what they say is their best offer. The Union was able to remove the concessions and two tiering from the table. The following is a summary of the Employer's offer:

January 1, 2015      no increase
 
January 1, 2016      no increase
 
January 1, 2017      no increase
 
January 1, 2018      1.0% to all classifications earning $16.00 or more
      2% to all classifications earning $16.00 or less
 
January 1, 2019      1.0% to all classifications earning $16.00 or more
     2% to all classifications earning $16.00 or less
 

      
As discussed at the previous meetings the Union will bring the Employer's offer to you for your consideration.

The Union does not recommend ratification of this offer.

The Union will be having a ratification meeting on December 2 and 3, 2017 for you to vote on the offer. A bulletin about the meeting will be coming out shortly.

Part-time employees please bring (12) twelve weeks of pay stubs to the meeting to be provide to the Union. This is required to qualify for strike pay. If you get paid bi-weekly, then that is (6) six pay stubs.
