BCH - Reintegration of Field Customer Service Work to BC Hydro

Monday, November 21, 2016
To all MoveUP members at BC Hydro:

In April 2016 BC Hydro approached your union about repatriating the Accenture FMA positions back into its operations after many years of that work being performed by Accenture. In total, the FCS work amounted to approximately 65 to 70 jobs. The parties met through April and May of 2016 and came to an agreement on repatriation. This is now known as FCS work.

When this work left BC Hydro and went to Accenture it was deemed a successorship. The parties discussed and agreed that since this work was being returned to BC Hydro, if it was adjudicated at the Labour Relations Board, the Board would deem this to be a successorship. When there is a successorship, the Labour Relations Board rules that there is to be a dovetailing of seniority. Former ABSU employees in the FCS who successfully transferred to BCH had their full seniority for time performing work at both companies recognized.

A full copy of the Memorandum of Agreement can be found here. The work was ultimately transferred over effective October 1, 2016.

We hope you will join us in welcoming the new members to the BC Hydro bargaining unit!

In solidarity,
Tony Geluch, Union Representative
Barbara Junker, Union Representative
Brad Bastien, Senior Union Representative
Gwenne Farrell, Vice-President
